Although our snow amounts aren’t impressive, strong winds are causing havoc on the roads. A good portion of I-75 is closed between Flint and Saginaw, and sporadic power outages are being reported. Everyone is busy getting ready for the storm. Stores are crowded with last minute shoppers and I’m glad I don’t have to go anywhere today. Our Wednesday began with clear skies and very cold temperatures. It was 13°F when I got up at 8:30. Since then it has warmed a little but not much. This will be warm compared to what is coming next week. Some days won’t even make it out of the teens, and single digits at night. While the deep south is being hammered by tornadic storms, and the Midwest is plagued with blizzards, we, here in Michigan, continue to have cold but quiet weather. We had mostly clouds this morning, but the sky is clearing nicely as the day goes on. With very little wind, it’s quite pleasant outdoors. The rain that was in the forecast, has now been removed and it appears that we will have mostly dry conditions for the next few days. Yesterday was a typical early December day with overcast skies and cold temps. We did receive a bit of snow early in the evening, which left a light covering of white, mainly on smooth surfaces.
