Stormy Weather For Everyone But Us – Mid Michigan

While the deep south is being hammered by tornadic storms, and the Midwest is plagued with blizzards, we, here in Michigan, continue to have cold but quiet weather.  This low pressure trough, which is wreaking havoc on so much of the country, will not be affecting us much at all.  I certainly feel for the people of Louisiana, Mississippi and Alabama, who seem to be getting hit every week with severe weather.  Yesterday was a bad one for them, and I’m seeing that it is continuing today.  We are expecting a winter mix tonight with strong winds, then rising temps tomorrow will cause it to change into rain.  We could get as much as half an inch of rain and wind gusts could reach close to 40 mph.  After that, it is expected to get cold and stay that way.  They are telling us that we have a good chance for a white Christmas.  I hope it happens.

Our 4 PM temperature is 37°F, the humidity is 74%, and skies are overcast.  Winds are from the ESE at 16-20 mph and visibility is 10 miles.  The dew point is 27°F and the wind chill is 28°F.  Yesterday’s high was 34°F and the overnight low was 27°F.  Average temps for this date are 35°F / 23°F.  Sunrise was at 8:01 AM and sunset will be at 5:03 PM.
