This morning is very cold with intermittent lake effect show squalls. We received a trace of snow overnight and it looks like snow will be here most of the day. Temperatures will be much colder today and wind chills will be brisk. I think that we will be seeing more normal weather from now on. Yesterday was a very rare day for January here in Michigan. For the entire day, there wasn’t one cloud in the skiy. We didn’t see any until almost dark. We received a slight amount of snow late yesterday, after a day of mist which coated everything in a light cover of ice early in the day. We had a light covering of ice this morning on my deck when I let the dog out, but there was nothing in my rain gauge. I could feel a light mist on my face but nothing showing on the radar. After a mostly sunny day yesterday, clouds have moved in and I don’t expect to see much of the sun today. Regardless, temperatures remain above normal and the year is getting off to a mild start. Our Thursday has been better than expected. We were supposed to have mostly clouds skies and highs only in mid 40s. After all the rain and wind of yesterday, we woke to a world of white this morning. The forecast called for less than an inch of snow, but we received about 3 inches.
