Showers and Thunderstorms Continue For Our Sunday – Mid Michigan

Yesterday was a complete washout with nearly continuous rain and a thunderstorm in the afternoon.  The Michigan State-Penn State game was postponed for 3.5 hours and the stadium was evacuated because of lightning.  Because of this storm, areas of Lansing were without power for awhile.  This is quite unusual for Michigan as we rarely have thunderstorms during football games here.  But it was well worth it for the MSU fans as their team was victorious (which was a surprise for me).  Today is expected to be much the same although it is not raining at this time.  There was 0.57″ in my gauge this morning.

Our 9 AM temperature is 53°F (11°C), the humidity is 97% with light fog, and visibility is 3 miles.  The dew point is 53°F (11°C), and winds are from the south at 5 mph.  Skies are cloudy.  Yesterday’s high was 46°F (7°C) and the overnight low was 46°F (7°C).  Averages for this date are 52°C / 34°F.
