Most of Our Snow Is Gone – Mid Michigan

Wouldn’t you know that after receiving 8 inches of snow, most would melt right before Christmas.  That’s our luck.  These very warm temps are expected to last up to the weekend, then there really isn’t much snow mentioned in our forecast for Christmas.  Maybe Mother Nature will surprise us  with a freak snowstorm. Temperatures were warmer than what was predicted.  My thermometer read 40° for a very short time, and temps didn’t fall much through the overnight.  We were supposed to see a high in the low 40s today but it is already that temperature and it isn’t even noon yet.

Our 11:30 AM EST temp is 42°F (5°C), the humidity is 66% and skies are partly cloudy.  The pressure is 29.81 in (1009.2 mb) and steady.  Winds are from the WSW at 14 mph, giving us a wind chill of 35°F (2°C).  The dew point is 33°F (1°C) and visibility is 10 miles.  We received 0.02″ of rain yesterday.  Sunrise was at 8:03 AM and sunset will be at 5:03 PM.  Yesterday’s high was 40°F (4°C) and the overnight low was 39°F (4°C).  The record high for Dec. 19 was 51°F (11°C) set in 2006, and the record low was -9°F (-23°C) set in 1926.  Averages for this date are 33°F / 20°F
