A “Stealth” Snowstorm For Our Monday in Mid Michigan

Those were the words of a local meteorologist in describing this storm.  One to two inches overnight and into Monday morning was the prediction, but it strengthened through the day and we received just over five inches total.  Some areas received nine plus inches.  Along with it came some very cold temps which are expected to remain over the next week.   So I guess this snow will be around for a while.  Today is supposed to be mostly sunny but we haven’t seen much sun yet.

Our 9:30 AM  temperature is 21.4°F (-7°C), the humidity is 66% and skies are cloudy with a few breaks in the clouds.  Winds are from the NW at 6 mph giving us a wind chill of 10°F (-12°C).  The pressure is 30.42 in (1029.8 mb) and rising.  Visibility is 10 miles.  Sunrise was at 7:53 AM and sunset will be at 5:46 PM.  Yesterday’s high was 28°F (-2°C) and the overnight low was 15°F (-9°C).  Averages for this date are 27°F / 14°F.   The record high for Jan. 29 is 55°F (13°C) set in 2002, and the record low is -11°F (-23°C) set in 1966.

Tonight:  Mostly cloudy with a 30% chance of snow after 1 AM.  Rising temps overnight with S winds at 6-11 mph. after midnight.

Wednesday:  Mostly cloudy and breezy.  High in the upper 30s.  SW winds 17-24 mph, gusting to 37 mph.

Wednesday Night:  Mostly cloudy with lows in the upper 20s.  Winds W 9-13 mph, gusting to 18 mph.
