Enjoying Our Temporary Hot Spell – Mid Michigan
Yesterday reached the low to mid 80s here in Mid Michigan, and with the low humidity, it was very pleasant. It seemed good to air out the house and be able to go outdoors without a coat. Today won’t be quite as warm but we should see a high near 80°F by late afternoon. We have had hazy sun with a fairly light cloud cover most of the morning and brisk winds. I have heard that there is a wild fire near Grayling which closed down parts of i-75 but I haven’t heard anymore about it. I’m wondering if is true or if someone is posting old news from the fire 7 years ago, especially since it seems to be in that same area. Regardless, we are under a red flag warning and hopefully, we’ll get enough rain with this approaching system to ease the drought. There were showers north of us all morning but we aren’t expecting any until tonight and tomorrow. Then after that, another cool down.
Our 1:30 PM temp is 77°F (25°C), the humidity is 37%, and winds are from the SW at 16 mph gusting to 25 mph. The pressure is 29.90 in (1012.2 mb) and falling. Skies are partly to mostly cloudy. Visibility is 10 miles and the heat index is 75°F (24°C). The dew point is 49°F (10°C). Yesterday’s official high was 83°F but our car thermometer read 88°F in the afternoon while driving down the road. The overnight low was 66°F . Averages for this date are 62°F / 42°F.
