Finally! Some Much Needed Rain In Mid Michigan

The rain began around 9 PM last night and intermittent showers continued throughout the night.  There was 0.20″ in my gauge at 7:30 and it has continued since then.  The  forecast is calling for rain throughout the day and into tomorrow, and we certainly welcome it.  This is our first significant rain since June 28.  There is a low pressure center sitting just to our southwest and is very slowly moving off to the southeast.  My lawn is already looking happier.

Our 8:30 AM temp is 66°F (19°C), the humidity is 88% and skies are overcast.  The dew point is 64°F (18°C) and winds are from the east at 5 mph.  The pressure is 19.74 in and steady, and visibility is 7 miles.   Yesterday’s high was 82°F (28°C) and the overnight low was 67°F (19°C).  Averages for this date are 83°F / 59°F.  The record high for July 20 is 102°F set in 1930, and the record low is 40°F set in 1965.
