First Real Winter Storm Of The Season – Mid Michigan

It began as rain in the afternoon, then changed to snow by early evening.  Just when we thought that we were spared from the freezing rain, it changed to freezing rain.  By nightfall, it was heavy to moderate snow again.  It was wet and heavy, and made for a beautiful snow-covered night with it clinging to everything.  Temperatures are not supposed to rise much above freezing this upcoming week, so I think it will be lasting for awhile. A Messy New Year’s Day For Mid Michigan

I think that this picture insert pretty much tells what we can expect today.  Right now it is calm but it doesn’t look like it will be that way much longer.  I’m just glad that I don’t have to go anywhere today.
