Another Snowy, Cloudy Day In Mid Michigan

Another Snowy, Cloudy Day In Mid Michigan

This is about the 4th day that we’ve had these exact weather conditions.  Occasional snow squalls from lake effect keep dropping about an inch to two everyday.  It isn’t much but just enough that we have to keep cleaning off the cars and deck.  The one difference is that today is very cold compared to what we have had.  Highs were supposed to reach the upper 20s and I don’t think we are going to make it.  In addition, we…

Another Cloudy Day With A Few Snow Showers Expected – Mid Michigan

Another Cloudy Day With A Few Snow Showers Expected – Mid Michigan

Today is just another much like the past 3-4.  Cloudy skies with occasional light snow showers happening every so often.  It’s really getting boring.  I wish it would either clear up and be sunny, or bring us a good snowstorm.  Our temperatures will be somewhat cooler and closer to normal over the next few days.  There is no real snow accumulations expected except the usual one quarter to one half of an inch.   We do have sun in the forecast…

More Clouds And Light Snow For Our Sunday

More Clouds And Light Snow For Our Sunday

Our morning was snowy, but now the snow showers have stopped.  I’m estimating that we received about half an inch but most has melted already.  It’s strange how the weather just isn’t changing from day to day, with conditions and temperatures almost the same as the day before.  Our temperatures are expected to continue over the upcoming week at slightly above normal and not much sun is expected.  This has been a very unusual and dry winter so far.  Usually,…

Another Cloudy Day In Mid Michigan

Another Cloudy Day In Mid Michigan

Temperatures will start going down this upcoming week, but will continue to be slightly above normal.  Yesterday brought us about an inch of very wet snow which accumulated to about an inch.  Most had melted by evening, however.  Today, we will be lucky to reach the freezing mark.  We continue to have about an inch and a half of snow cover, or maybe I should say ice cover.  The existing snow is crunchy from the thaw yesterday.  We could still…

A Bit Of A Warmup For Mid Michigan

A Bit Of A Warmup For Mid Michigan

Although temperatures reached the low 40s yesterday, we didn’t lose much snow cover.  I’m seeing more bare spots but the snow is still measuring about 2 inches where it remains.  Yesterday was a mix of sunny and cloudy periods and it was quite nice although on the breezy side.  Today will bring much of the same but we will see a mix of rain and snow moving in tonight.  This has been a very dry winter for us so far….

Another Cloudy Day In Mid Michigan

Another Cloudy Day In Mid Michigan

Our weather lately has been boring.  Everyday is like the one before and I guess I shouldn’t complain about that.  I’m seeing where northern areas of the state got freezing rain last night and we sure don’t need any of that.  We continue to have about 2 inches of snow cover, and it just doesn’t get quite warm enough to melt any of it.  The next few days are expected to see temps in the upper 30s to near 40…

Finally, Some Sun For Our Saturday In Mid Michigan

Finally, Some Sun For Our Saturday In Mid Michigan

After multiple cloudy days, we finally have some sun this morning.  Unfortunately, there are very cold temperatures with it.  It was only 13F when I got up this morning, and temps have rebounded a bit since then.  Highs are only expected to make it into the low 30s so the sun will help make it feel warmer.  We continue to have about 2 inches of snow cover and temperatures are expected to remain at about freezing, so I don’t think…

Another Blah, Cloudy Day In Mid Michigan

Another Blah, Cloudy Day In Mid Michigan

Highs yesterday reached just enough above freezing to make the road muddy, but not really enough to get rid of any snow cover.  We still have about 2 inches on the ground and no more is expected for a while.  In fact, a local forecaster is saying that we could see a bit of sun over the next few days.  That would be nice.  It does seem, however, that when we have a sunny day, the temperatures are a lot…

A Quiet, Mild Mid January Day In Mid Michigan

A Quiet, Mild Mid January Day In Mid Michigan

Member posted: January 7 2021 at 4:15 pm   This has been a peaceful week weather-wise here in Michigan.  There hasn’t been much precipitation and what we got was very light.  We had quite a bit of sun this morning which was nice, but now clouds have filled the skies.  We received three inches of snow on Saturday, but that has melted down to 2 inches of snow cover now. Area’s where my husband snow-blowed is down to bare ground,…

A Typical January Day In Mid Michigan

A Typical January Day In Mid Michigan

Our trees are still snow covered with very little thawing going on.  Gotta admit, it’s very pretty.  This is why I like snow in the winter.  Without it, the days are so dark and gloomy.  We have about 3 inches on the ground and most of the ice has melted.  Temps are in the mid 30s and there is almost no wind, so it’s very pleasant to be out there.  I’m happy for the winter sports enthusiasts because today would…
