Afternoon Thunderstorms For our Tuesday – Mid Michigan

Afternoon Thunderstorms For our Tuesday – Mid Michigan

Tuesday began with some sun and very humid conditions.  Then the afternoon brought some thunderstorms which left us with an addition 0.84″ of rainfall, something we didn’t need.  This morning is sunny and for once, there is no rain in the forecast.  It’s only for one day, however, then more rain is in the forecast for the next two days.  Right now, next week looks like we may have a dry spell and I hope that it happens.  We’re getting…

Too Much Rain Is Ruining My Flowers – Mid Michigan

Too Much Rain Is Ruining My Flowers – Mid Michigan

My flowers in my beds are looking good, but those in my pots are looking pretty bad.  There is even mold forming on the dirt.  Some of the leaves are starting to dry up and they aren’t blossoming as they should.  This is supposed to be our dry season and it’s been raining almost everyday.  There was only a 20% chance of rain today, but it still rained this morning.  I’m really sick of rain.  I would rather have the…

Cloudy And Cool For Mid Michigan

Cloudy And Cool For Mid Michigan

Today was supposed to be rainy, but I’m seeing now that NOAA has reduced our rain chances to just 30%.  I’m hoping that we don’t get any.  The mosquitoes are horrid with all the rain that we’ve had.  My area really has not had a drought like other parts of the state, and I guess we should be happy about that.  But at this time, I think that no areas are considered drought-stricken any longer.  The extended forecast from earlier…

Rain Over, Should See Some Sun Today – Mid Michigan

Rain Over, Should See Some Sun Today – Mid Michigan

Our morning began with clouds but now the sun is shining.  This should be a nice day.  Our last day up at the campground was a wash-out and miserable.  Our trip home yesterday was  wet most of the way, and once we got home, the mosquitoes were terrible.  I know that they said that we were in a drought, but not where I live.  We have received too much rain now and it’s time for it to stop.  July is…

Very Wet And Cold In Northern Michigan

Very Wet And Cold In Northern Michigan

The rain began about 8 PM last night and has increased in intensity since then.  We were supposed to go home today but extended our stay one day since we don’t like packing up in the rain.  This is expected to continue all day and into tomorrow morning.  I’m not sure what we’ll do today since the weather will not be suitable for being outdoors.  At east it has cooled down which is a blessing since our AC isn’t working….

A Little Cooler With Rain On The Way – Northern Michigan

A Little Cooler With Rain On The Way – Northern Michigan

After two very warm days, we can expect much cooler air over the next few days.  We have one more day here in Indian River, then we’ll be heading for home.  Rain was in our forecast for yesterday, but all the showers and thunderstorms remained well to our south.  We can expect another round of showers tonight and most of tomorrow with highs only in the 60s.  That will feel good to me. Our 4:15 PM temperature is 78F, the…

Too Hot For Me On This 4th Of July In Northern Michign

Too Hot For Me On This 4th Of July In Northern Michign

We will see highs near 90F today and without AC, that isn’t pleasant.  It wouldn’t be so bad if we had a little wind but that isn’t happening either.  Luckily, our trailer is mostly in the shade so that helps a little.  Our campground is quite full although some people left today, probably to avoid the heavy traffic going home tomorrow and Monday.  As for us, we’re staying until Wednesday or Thursday and there is a major cool-down coming next…

Cool Weather In Northern Michigan

Cool Weather In Northern Michigan

Our weather here in Indian River has been perfect so far.  We have had comfortable temperatures and no rain.  This will continue for the next few days, but then the hot air moves in.  I’m not looking forward to it, especially since our AC isn’t working.  Luckily, our trailer is on a well-shaded lot so that should certainly help.  For those who were hoping for a hot July 4th, they’ll be getting their wish. Our 9:45 AM temp is 62F,…
