Tuesday began with some sun and very humid conditions. Then the afternoon brought some thunderstorms which left us with an addition 0.84″ of rainfall, something we didn’t need. My flowers in my beds are looking good, but those in my pots are looking pretty bad. There is even mold forming on the dirt. Some of the leaves are starting to dry up and they aren’t blossoming as they should. This is supposed to be our dry season and it’s been raining almost everyday. Today was supposed to be rainy, but I’m seeing now that NOAA has reduced our rain chances to just 30%. I’m hoping that we don’t get any. The mosquitoes are horrid with all the rain that we’ve had. My area really has not had a drought like other parts of the state, and I guess we should be happy about that. But at this time, I think that no areas are considered drought-stricken any longer. The rain began about 8 PM last night and has increased in intensity since then. We were supposed to go home today but extended our stay one day since we don’t like packing up in the rain. This is expected to continue all day and into tomorrow morning. I’m not sure what we’ll do today since the weather will not be suitable for being outdoors. After two very warm days, we can expect much cooler air over the next few days. We have one more day here in Indian River, then we’ll be heading for home. Rain was in our forecast for yesterday, but all the showers and thunderstorms remained well to our south. We will see highs near 90F today and without AC, that isn’t pleasant. It wouldn’t be so bad if we had a little wind but that isn’t happening either. Our weather here in Indian River has been perfect so far. We have had comfortable temperatures and no rain. This will continue for the next few days, but then the hot air moves in.
