Another Not-Too-Nice Day In Mid Michigan

Another Not-Too-Nice Day In Mid Michigan

Yesterday brought us a mix of rain and snow which became mostly snow as the day wore on.  It did leave a light covering which has melted since then.  Today is just damp and chilly, but temperatures are still above average.  At least we aren’t getting flooded like the west coast is.  I’m just wondering how all of this rain will affect Lake Mead, which was 27 ft. below normal level at one point.  I’d like to hear from those…

Light Rain / Snow For Our Thursday – Mid Michigan

Light Rain / Snow For Our Thursday – Mid Michigan

Today is damp and cold, a typical dreary January day.  We’ve been having a mix of rain and snow since this morning, but not enough to measure.  At least there isn’t much wind to make it even more miserable.  I’ve got my running around done for the day so I’m good. Our 1:30 PM temperature is 38°F, the humidity is 92%, and skies are overcast.  Winds are from the south at 2-6 mph and the wind chill is 35°F    The…

Another Foggy Day In Mid Michigan

Another Foggy Day In Mid Michigan

Today is foggy once again, and it (the fog) doesn’t seem to be going anywhere.  Visibility is less than a mile and we have had intermittent rain showers most of the morning.  Radar is showing most of the rain to be gone now, but temps will remain mild.  This is probably the last of the 40-50 degree weather for awhile.  The upcoming cooling trend will still bring highs above average, so we really can’t complain.  There is no snow forecasted…

Another Wet, Foggy Morning In Mid Michigan

Another Wet, Foggy Morning In Mid Michigan

Not much to say in terms of the weather except it’s just more of the same.  In fact, this should be the normal for most of this week.  I just heard an extended forecast for the rest of January, and according to this meteorologist, we can expect above average temperatures but most days will be rainy.  I’m okay with that.   January is considered to be our cloudiest month here in Michigan; it doesn’t seem that this will be an…

A Little Rain, Fog To Start Our Monday – Mid Michigan

A Little Rain, Fog To Start Our Monday – Mid Michigan

New Years Day has come and gone, and our fairly mild weather remains, at least for a few more days.  Unfortunately, it will also be very wet.  Record high temperatures could happen tomorrow, although how high they will be depends on who you listen to.  I’ve heard anywhere from 55°F to 65°F.  There is another blast of cold air coming from the northwest, which will cause more severe storms and blizzard conditions once again in parts of the Midwest.  So…

A Gloomy, Wet New Year For Mid Michigan

A Gloomy, Wet New Year For Mid Michigan

Our New Years Day is wet and mild, quite a difference from a week ago.  I’m hearing of another major storm approaching, but I think it won’t affect us too much.  The southern states seem to be where most of it will be felt, but time will tell.  Our weather forecast is calling for one day this upcoming week, where temperatures will reach well into the 60s; that can usually preempt some nasty weather when a cold front  runs into…
