A Bit Chilly In Mid Michigan

A Bit Chilly In Mid Michigan

Our day started out sunny but now the sky has become overcast.  The temperature isn’t too cold but still below average for this date.  I’m hearing that we have a few days coming where the highs could reach near 80 degrees again, but it won’t last long.  Then we have to deal with another cold front.  Will this ever end?  Our temps should be near 60°F by now and these cold spells are threatening our fruit crop.  Yesterday’s snow showers…

A Little Snow To Start The Day – Mid Michigan

A Little Snow To Start The Day – Mid Michigan

We had a light covering of snow early this morning which measured about quarter of an inch.  It didn’t last long.  We had recurrent snow showers most of our Monday which measured 0.08″ of melted precip in my gauge.  Today will be a bit warmer than yesterday and no precip is expected.  We still have cloudy skies and it is a bit gloomy.  The teaser of warm weather last week really spoiled us. Our 12:30 PM temperature is 38°F (3°C),…

Snow Showers For Our Monday – Mid Michigan

Snow Showers For Our Monday – Mid Michigan

Our morning began with a light cover of snow on bare surfaces, but my rain gauge had just water.  We received 0.36″ of precip yesterday and overnight, and snow showers have continued throughout our early afternoon.  This should be the order of the day.  It is also quite blustery out there, so not a nice day to have to go out.  All the snow is melting on contact, so no accumulations are expected.  This will be our coldest day this…

A Cold Front And Storms For Our Sunday – Mid Michigan

A Cold Front And Storms For Our Sunday – Mid Michigan

Our summer-like weather is coming to an end with an approaching cold front.  We certainly enjoyed our weather this past week, especially the few 80 degree days that we had.  It sure brought the leaf sprouts out on the trees and bushes.  The forsythias are in full bloom, as are the daffodils and other spring flowers; it’s now time for some rain which is badly needed.  There are burn advisories  and no burn permits are being issued at this time. …

Our Dry Weather Is Coming To An End – Mid Michigan

Our Dry Weather Is Coming To An End – Mid Michigan

Yesterday was a record breaker once again for high temperatures.  Today will be warm but not enough to exceed the current record of 87°F (30C).  Regardless, it will be a lovely day to get outdoors and take in the sun.  Rain will return to our area tomorrow and last through Sunday.  There is a very slight chance that we could see some severe storms on Sunday.  Then more seasonable temperatures will return.  Late next week, highs are expected to be…

Record High Temperatures For Mid Michigan

Record High Temperatures For Mid Michigan

We have been graced with record high temperatures yesterday and today.  It will be hard going back to average temps again.  People are out in shorts, sandals, tank tops and thoroughly loving it.  It’s hard to believe that snow is mentioned for Monday even though it will probably be mixed with rain.  We knew it would happen.  We can’t expect summer weather to last in April.  The buds on the trees have really sprouted with this heat.  It’s so nice…

Summer-Like Weather Coming To An End – Mid Michigan

Summer-Like Weather Coming To An End – Mid Michigan

We better enjoy these last few days of “shorts” weather because it is about to come to an end.  Next week will be back to average, even below average temps once again, and early next week will be cold and wet.  After all the rain that we had a week ago, they are now warning us of possible wild fires because it is so dry.  It’s amazing how quickly the elements can change.  Some internet weather people are warning of…

Another Warm Day For Mid Michigan

We are starting to see the trees budding out with this warm weather.  Today will make it into the low 70s with the next three days even warmer.  There is no rain in the forecast until the weekend.  This afternoon has become cloudy after a sunny morning and winds have increased.  Being outdoors is pleasant except for the wind. Our 1:30 PM temperature is 71°F (22°C), the humidity is 37%, and winds are from the WSW at 6-15 mph.  The…
