Storms Came In Clusters on Thursday – Mid Michgian
Clusters of thunderstorms formed over most of the state all day yesterday, dumping large amounts of water in very short times. We were fortunate that they waited until we got home. Our first storm happened about 6 PM when we received 0.35″ in 15 minutes. After that, we got occasional sprinkles but nothing heavy. Overnight, another line of thunderstorms came our way but only gave us another 0.10″ It died out shortly after passing us. Many areas received over an inch and some areas near Detroit recorded over 3 inches according to CoCoRahs. A tornado was spotted north of Traverse City but I haven’t heard any damage reports. Areas just to our north reported high winds and downed trees, so we lucked out once again.
