Very Windy and Cold in Mid Michigan

I am so tired of wind!  We had gusts up to 50 mph yesterday and many areas lost power.  The northern part of the state has been under a winter storm warning since yesterday and that will continue until 5 PM today.  I’m not seeing many reports of huge snow amounts as yet on CoCoRahs.  The most that I’m finding is 8 inches in Calumet up in the Keweenaw Peninsula.  Northern lower Michigan is only reporting about an inch or so.  There is still a lot of lake effect snow showing on radar so it is far from over for them.  As for us, this morning is sunny but the sun isn’t doing much to warm things up.  Temps have been falling all night and won’t recover much today.  A Polar Vortex is affecting us and it will be frigid out there, especially with the wind chill.

Our 10:30 AM EST temperature id 33°F (1°C), the humidity is 46%, and winds are from the west at 23 mph, gusting to 31 mph.  Our wind chill is 21°F (-6°C).  The pressure is 29.83 in and steady.  Skies are clear and visibility is 10 miles.  Sunrise was at 7;54 AM and sunset will be at 5:03 PM.  Yesterday’s high was 53°F (12°C) and the overnight low was 29°F (-3°C).  Averages for this date are 38°F / 25°F.
