Bitter Cold / Lots of Snow For Michigan

We had snow most of Sunday and even Christmas Day.  Between the two days, we have about 4 inches of snow cover.  Today is sunny but it does nothing to make going outdoors more bearable.  It was -6°F when I got up this morning and the expected high was on 8°F.  My thermometer is reading a bit higher than that now, and it doesn’t appear to be in the sun.  Regardless, it is bitter cold out there and we don’t expect much warmer weather through the New Year.

Our 2 PM EST temperature is 12°F (-11°C), the humidity is 60%, an d skies are partly cloudy.  Winds are from the W at 14 mph giving us a wind chill of -8°F (-22°C).  The pressure is 30.44 in (1030.5 mb) and rising.   Visibility is 10 miles.  The dew point is -3°F (-19°C).  Yesterday’s high was 20°F (-7°C) and the overnight low was -6°F (-21°C).  Normals for this date are 32°F / 18°F.  The record high for Dec. 25 was 66°F (19°C) set in 1982, and the record low is -9°F (-23°C).
