Another Day of Snow – Mid Michigan

It seems that Mother Nature turned on the snow machine and forgot to turn it off.  It has snowed now for the past 5 days . . . . . not huge amounts, just enough to keep the roads slippery.   We received another 1.5 inches yesterday and we now have 5 inches of ground cover.  There is another system heading our way for the weekend but temps are expected to be warm enough that much of the precip should be rain.  I have to go out and shovel every morning for my dogs.  Being dachshunds, they have an aversion to going out in any amount of snow, especially when their little bellies drag in it.  I guess I can’t blame them.

Our 9:15 AM temp is 15°F (-9°C), the humidity is 92%, and skies are cloudy with snow flurries.  Winds are calm.  The pressure is 30.36 in (1027.8 mb) and rising.  Visibility is 4 miles and the dew point is 12°F (-11°C).  Sunrise was at 8:05 AM and sunset will be at 5:29 PM.  Yesterday’s high was 19°F (-7°C) and the overnight low was 13°F (-11°C).  Averages for this date are 30°F / 15°F.  The record high for Jan. 15 is 58°F (14°C) set in 1953, and the record low is  -17°F (-27°C) set in 1984.
