Some Sun After The Snow – Mid Michigan

Yesterday was cloudy but warm enough to rid us of most of our snow and ice.  Then in the late afternoon, our precip began as freezing mist which changed over to fine snow shortly after.  As the night wore on, the snowflakes got bigger and it started to pile up quickly.  It was over by 11:30 PM after dropping about 4.5 inches of snow.  This morning is sunny but very cold.  Forecasts are showing a significant warm-up this weekend and into next week, so it doesn’t look like this snow will last too long.

Our 11 AM temperature is 18°F (-8°C), the humidity is 66% and skies are mostly clear.  Winds are from the WSW at 4-6 mph and the dew point is 7°F (-14°C).  The pressure is 30.01 in (1016.3 mb) and steady.  Visibility is 11 miles.  Yesterday’s high was 44°F (7°C) and the overnight low was 9°F (-13°C).  Average temps for this date are 30°F / 16°F.  Sunrise was at 7:29 AM and sunset was at 6:11 PM.

Today:  Partly to mostly cloudy.  High 26°F.  Winds SSW at 10-20 mph.

Tonight:  Windy with occasional snow showers before midnight.    Low 12°F.  Winds WSW at 20-30 mph.  Low 12F.  New snow accumulations of 1 inch possible.

Saturday:  Becoming partly cloudy.  High 19°F.  Winds WNW at 15-25 mph, possibly gusting higher.
