I wasn’t expecting this much snow overnight, but regardless, here it is. We had 1.3 inches at 8:30 this morning, and I know we’ve gotten another inch since then. Light snow continues at this time. We are suppose to have temps back in the 40s by the end of this week, so I know that this won’t last long. Our 12:30 PM temperature is 31°F (-1°C), the humidity is 85%, and skies are cloudy with light snow. Winds are from…
We woke to another half inch of snow this morning, but now most has melted. I don’t think that we’ll see temps much over the freezing mark today, so our ice pack remains. I’ve referred to it as our “glacier” because it doesn’t seem to be going anywhere. We need a day where the temp reaches 70 degrees . . . . . just one. I don’t think that it will be happening anytime soon, however. Our 4:15 PM temperature…
To look outdoors today, no one would know that we had 3 inches a few days ago. All of that snow is now gone and the sun is working on the partial ice cover that we still have from our past ice storm. It isn’t quite warm enough to totally get rid of it, but it is melting little by little. It’s actually quite nice outdoors although there is a bit of a breeze, making it feel chilly. I’m not…
The snow began close to midnight and continued all night. We woke to a white landscape this morning with about 3 inches of new snow. It has been snowing since then but mainly just flurries. A winter weather advisory is in effect until 4 PM. Three to six inches of snow is what was predicted for my area and I don’t think that we’ll get much more than what we have right now. It is warm enough that it has…
This is the third weekend where a snowy weather system is about to drop 3-6 inches of snow on us. This is getting to be a habit, one that we are getting tired of. We still have some ice patches that haven’t melted yet from the ice storm 4 weeks ago. Ice melts much slower than snow, and it remains in areas that don’t get much sun. Now tomorrow we’ll be shoveling again. Since our January and February were so…
We still have a little snow on the ground, mainly where there were snowbanks and shade. Temperatures will still be above freezing today so hopefully, it will all be gone before we get the next storm this weekend. From what I’m hearing, we can expect about three to six inches on Friday, but it’s still too early to be set in stone. Daylight Saving Time begins this weekend and I hate it. Having to adjust to getting up an hour…
After a rainy / snowy Monday, our Tuesday is bright and sunny. We did receive about 1.5″ of snow overnight, but most has already melted. High temperatures will reach to near average today and this round of snow should be gone by tonight. We are already being warned of another winter storm heading our way for Friday. These seem to be never-ending. Now that March is here, we’re getting our winter. What’s even worse is that temperatures are expected to…
We had a light rain/snow mix overnight which left a trace of snow on the deck this morning It melted down to 0.03″ of precip. We now have light rain and most of the snow is gone except for where the snowbanks were from shoveling. Temperatures aren’t as warm as yesterday but still not uncomfortable. It looks like a typical day in early March. Our 3:45 PM temperature is 37°F (3°C), the humidity is 78%, and skies are cloudy with…
Slowly, our snow is melting away. We still have about an inch or two, depending where you measure. There is quite a bit of bare ground showing now and I expect to lose a lot more of it today. The day began with clear skies but now clouds are on the increase. We may get a little mixed precip late tonight or tomorrow from what I’ve hear, but no accumulations expected Our 2:30 PM temperature is 48°F (9°C), the humidity…
Unlike many other places in Michigan, I’d say we got off quite easy with this latest winter storm. We only got about 5 inches, and with the sun out, it’s melting pretty fast. Counties south of us got more snow and even had some thunder and lightning with it. Even Lansing reported some thunder-snow. Today is bright and sunny, and just a lovely winter day. For those who love winter sports, they won’t have it nicer than what today is….
