It seems like everyone but us got some rain yesterday, even though it wasn’t very much. Our lawn is brown and nothing is growing but the weeds. It does seem good that it’s staying short for awhile. Our next real chance for rain isn’t until tomorrow night, and with our luck, that will miss us too. Right now (10:15 AM) our temperature is 73°F (23°C), the humidity is 77%, and the dew point is 65°F (18°C). Winds are from the…
Looking at the radar last night, I was certain that everything would be wet this morning. It didn’t happen. It managed to fall apart just before reaching my area. I’m seeing rain right now approaching but it doesn’t appear to be much. We really do need a good soaking, especially for the farmers. It was bad enough that they had to plant late, but now aren’t getting any much needed rain. It’s hard to believe that summer is almost over…
This weather has been wonderful. There were a few storms that popped up yesterday afternoon which clouded our skies for a few hours, but they fell apart before reaching us. We went from flooded lawns and fields to very dry in just a month. Everyone’s lawns are turning brown now and we really could use a little rain. At least the lawn isn’t growing like it was. Temperatures today should be very comfortable. Our 12:15 PM temperature is 82°F (28°C),…
It seemed like summer would never get here, but now it has and it’s wonderful. The past two days have been sunny with low humidity. Even though highs were in the low 80s, it was comfortable without the AC on. Today is expected to be the same but there is a small chance for some pop-up showers or thunderstorms later this afternoon. We really could use some rain but the lawn has finally stopped growing and that’s a good thing. …
If you like summer weather, this week is perfect. We have clear skies, low humidity and dew points, and temperatures at a very comfortable level. I’m wishing that I were at the campground up north. We’ll be going back up on the 15th and I hope that this weather continues. There is almost a zero chance of rain for us through this weekend with the next chance being next Tuesday. Things are getting a bit dry so we could use…
Yesterday was another where we had pop-up storms but they all managed to miss us. The few that did form caused quite a bit of damage but thankfully, they were small and only affected small areas. We still have a chance for rain today but it doesn’t look like it will happen. There was 0.12″ in my rain gauge this morning and most of that was from a quick downpour that we got in the afternoon. Today started out with…
There is a cold front approaching the state which spawned some pretty powerful thunderstorms yesterday. Fortunately, we were spared and didn’t even get a drop here. More are in the forecast for today with much cooler temperatures expected for the remainder of the week. I’m happy. This hot, humid, oppressive weather just drains me. I can’t even get anything done outdoors. I’m hoping that the 90s are behind us for the year. Our 10 AM temperature is 80°F (27°C), the…
Last night, we kept hearing noises that sounded like thunder, but there were no storms appearing near us on radar. Others had reported hearing these also. I did see a few flashes of lightning way off i the distance but not close enough to hear thunder. The sheriff’s dept reported that someone was shooting fireworks off about 10 miles from us, but I know what fireworks sound like, and this noise wasn’t that. The last time I heard it was…
Once again, our temps will reach the upper 80s with thunderstorms in the mix. The weather service is showing us in a slight risk area for severe weather. Hopefully, that won’t happen. This weekend is my husband’s birthday and the kids will all be here. I was hoping to have a campfire tonight. The greatest risk is just to our north so hopefully, all the rain will miss us. Our 10 AM temperature is 78°F (26°C), the humidity is 60%…
Summer weather came to Michigan with a “bang” this year. We went from a chilly, April-May type weather to very hot as of July 1. For awhile, we were wondering if summer was ever going to get here. At least we aren’t sweltering like folks in Europe are. My garden got off to a late start with the cold weather, but everything now seems to have recovered quite well. Today should be nice with just a very slight chance of…
