Heavy, But Much Needed Rain in Mid Michigan

Heavy, But Much Needed Rain in Mid Michigan

Yesterday brought a rain event like we haven’t seen in a very long time.  We received a total of 2.05″.  The rain began about 7 PM and continued through the overnight with thunder.  We were lucky since many areas were affected by damaging winds also.  The Chesaning area, which is about 15 miles to our north, had many downed trees and even one collapsed barn.  We continue to have rain in the forecast today, so it doesn’t look like it will be a very nice Father’s Day weatherwise.

Our 9:45 AM temperature is 69.4°F (21°C) , the humidity is 89%, and skies are overcast.  The dew point is 66°F (18°C) and winds are from the SW at 12 mph.  The pressure is 29.54 in (1000.0 mb) and falling.  Viability is 10 miles.  Yesterday’s high was 83°F (28°C)  and the overnight low was 65°F (18°C).
