This morning is starting out with mostly cloudy skies but I can see clearing coming from the west. As we frequently experience, our weather shifts from one extreme to another. We sustained drought conditions through the month of September. Now we are under flood watches and warnings. As much as 5 inches of rain fell in southern Michigan yesterday, and showers and thunderstorms continue, mainly south of us. We have been under drought conditions over the past month, and the past few days have put a dent in it. Rain amounts on Thursday, Friday, and yesterday have totaled just under an inch in my area and it was badly needed.
