A Little Snow and Slightly Warmer Temps For Mid Michigan

A Little Snow and Slightly Warmer Temps For Mid Michigan

We had light snow most of Thursday and we gained another half inch of snow cover.  We now have about three inches.  This morning actually felt warm with no wind and the overnight low didn’t fall below zero for a change.  Unfortunately, it isn’t going to last.  Highs will remain in the teens and a high only in the single digits expected on Sunday.  Extended forecasts are telling us that this will possibly continue into mid January.  On the positive side, the snow is cold enough that it isn’t extremely slippery so as long as I can get out of my driveway, I’m good.

Our 10:30 AM temperature is 13°F (-10°C), winds are from the west at 8 mph, and the dew point is 8°F (-13°C).  The pressure is 30.25 in (1024.1 mb) and steady.  The humidity is 78%.  Visibility is 7 miles under partly cloudy skies.  The wind chill is 1°F (-17°F).  Sunrise was at 8:08 pm and sunset will be at 5:11 pm.  Yesterday’s high was 12°F (-11°C), and the overnight low was 8°F (-13°C).   Averages for this date are 31°F / 21°F.   The record high for Dec. 28 is 62°F (17°C) set in 1984, and the record low is -10°F  (-23°C) set in 2000.
