Today Begins A Warmup In Mid Michigan

Finally, the frigid air is being replaced by more seasonable temperatures.  This coming week could see highs in the 40s and that will seem very balmy compared to what we’ve been having.  This morning is cloudy but the winds are picking up, and even though highs will be warmer, the wind chill will still make it uncomfortable.  I’m just thankful that temps will be warmer than the teens.

Our 9:45 AM temperature is 13.6°F (-10°C), the humidity is 61%, and skies are cloudy.  Winds are from the south at 14 mph giving us a wind chill of -2°F (-19°C).  The pressure is 30.25 in (1024.1 mb) and falling.  Visibility is 10 miles.  Sunrise was at 8:07 AM EST and sunset will be at 5:18 PM.  We have already gained about 15 mins. of extra daylight at night since Christmas Day.  Yesterday’s high was 8°F (-13°C) and the overnight low was -1°F (-18°C).  Averages for this date are 30°F / 16°F.  The record high for Jan,. 6 is 56°F (13°C) set in 1946, and the record low is -4°F (-20°C) set in 1942.
