Dry Weather Continues in Mid Michigan

Dry Weather Continues in Mid Michigan

After all the snow that we have had, it seems strange to have clear, dry weather for so many days in a row.  Now the forecast is saying no precip until next Tuesday.  We still have small patches of snow where it is always shady and it doesn’t get quite warm enough to melt.  But, for the most part, we don’t have any snow cover left.  Looking at the CoCoRahs reports this morning, that seems to be true for most…

Continued Cold But At Least No Storms – Mid Michigan

Continued Cold But At Least No Storms – Mid Michigan

While much of the eastern US are reeling from storms of one kind or another, Michigan is quite tranquil but very chilly.  I guess we can’t complain.  Another nor’easter is knocking on the door of the eastern seaboard, and the south has been hit with strong storms and tornadoes.  There is no warm up expected anytime soon for us.  In fact, it could be another 10 days before we’re back to normal temperatures.  As long as these nor’easters continue to…

Below Normal Temps Once Again in Mid Michigan

Below Normal Temps Once Again in Mid Michigan

After a two day reprieve from cooler than normal weather, we once again have to dealing with cool Canadian air.  At least we got rid of the remaining snow and our weather should continue to be dry over the next several days.  Highs are not expected to reach above than the 30s today after our mid 50 degree temps yesterday.  I’m hoping for nice weather on Easter Sunday but that is too far ahead to speculate right now. Our 9:15…

Absolutely Beautiful in Mid Michigan

Absolutely Beautiful in Mid Michigan

This will definitely be the pick day of the week with plenty of sun and temps reaching the mid 50s.  I even got the bug to  bring out some of my outdoor furniture.  Maybe I’m rushing things a bit but I will probably use them this afternoon.  Unfortunately, our temperatures for the remaining week won’t be as warm; but even at that, there is no precip in the forecast and sun most of the week.  That will make it feel…

A Beautiful Weekend on Tap For Mid Michigan

A Beautiful Weekend on Tap For Mid Michigan

Our Saturday is starting out with clear skies but very cold temperatures.  Our high today should be in the normal range with plenty of sun, so I’m expecting that most, if not all, of our snow will be gone by tomorrow night.  Dry conditions should remain throughout the week.  The storms affecting the mid sections of the country are expected to stay well to our south and shouldn’t have much impact on us. Our 9:45 AM temp is 21°F (-7°C),…

Clear and Cold for Mid Michigan

Clear and Cold for Mid Michigan

Our snow is gone except for patches here and there, and there is no precipitation in our forecast for the next week.  There are also no normal temperatures  in the forecast next week.  Although we aren’t receiving the nasty weather that is affecting the eastern states,  that storm pattern is responsible for our continued below-normal temperatures.  It will warm up briefly this weekend and I’m hoping that the remaining snow will finally be gone. Our 9 AM temp is 22°F…

Winter Is Hanging On in Mid Michigan

Winter Is Hanging On in Mid Michigan

The Nor’easters that are affecting the eastern seaboard are keeping Michigan in the deep freeze.  We’ll be lucky to see temps above freezing over the next few days.  At least there isn’t anymore snow in the forecast for awhile and we should see Mr. Sun more often than we have been.  I’m really hoping that this weather breaks before Easter. Our 10 AM temp is 25°F, the humidity is 64% and winds are from the west at 12 mph.  Skies…

Another Snow System for Mid Michigan

Another Snow System for Mid Michigan

Once again we are plagued with snow.  NOAA online is predicting around an inch for us, but local weather stations are saying 1-3 inches.  I think everyone is tired of snow and would welcome a lasting spring-like weather system once and for all.  I know that this snow won’t last since we are expecting highs in the low 50s by the weekend.  At least it gives us something to look forward to. Our 9:30 AM temperature is 28°F (-2°C), the…

Welcome Sun For Our Sunday in Mid Michigan

Welcome Sun For Our Sunday in Mid Michigan

In spite of the cool temperatures, our snow cover is  slowly melting away.  Unfortunately,  there is more snow on the way for Monday and Tuesday.  Although only light accumulations are expected, we know how that goes.  We are teetering on record snow amounts for the year so every snow event has brought more than what was forecasted.  At least it doesn’t last long this late in the season. Our 2:30 PM temp is 34°F (1°C), the humidity is  48%, and…

A Sunny Saturday For Mid Michigan

A Sunny Saturday For Mid Michigan

It seem good to see the sun this morning even with the cold temperatures.  We received a trace of snow yesterday but that appears to be over for our weekend.  We won’t see any major warming until next weekend but with the sun, we should have some thawing through this week.  We have about 3 inches of snow cover at this time and that will decrease as the week goes on. Our 10 AM temp is 31°F (-1°C), the humidity…
