We’re Back To Winter This Week – Mid Michigan

We’re Back To Winter This Week – Mid Michigan

This week won’t even bring temperatures at our normal range with highs only in the 30s.  I guess we are stuck with this snow for a week anyway. We had intermittent snow showers yesterday but not much accumulation.  Much of it melted on contact and that’s okay with me.   We will be moving the clocks ahead this weekend, something I hate every year.  I wish they would just leave it alone. Our 8:30 AM temp is 28°F (-2°C), the humidity…

Another Round of Snow For Mid Michigan

Another Round of Snow For Mid Michigan

There seems to be no end to this weather.  Just when we think that spring is here, Mother Nature reminds us that it is still too early for flowers and butterflies.  We had intermittent snow showers all day Wednesday and our snow cover is at 4 inches.  Forecasts are predicting another inch or so before it ends.  The robins and red wing blackbirds are probably wondering why they came back this soon. Our 8:45 AM temperature is 28°F (-2°C), the…

Once Again, the Forecast Was Wrong – Mid Michigan

Once Again, the Forecast Was Wrong – Mid Michigan

They said that we were only supposed to get 1-2 inches of snow and once again they were wrong.  The heavy snow was supposed to remain east of us.  In fact, we weren’t even in the snow advisory area.  So why do we have 4 inches on the ground this morning?  This has happened with every snow event that we have had this year.  At least our local Meteorologist, Mark Torregrossa was honest.  His last statement was that he was…

A Little Snow For Our Tuesday Morning – Mid Michigan

A Little Snow For Our Tuesday Morning – Mid Michigan

We received a trace of snow overnight and light snow continues at this time.  The forecast isn’t predicting any great amounts but we could see an inch by day’s end.   We aren’t expecting to be affected by the second large storm heading for the eastern seaboard and I’m thankful for that.  At this time of year, no snow is a welcome sight.  We get teased by a few days here and there that makes us think that spring may be…

It’s Really Starting To Feel Like Spring in Michigan

It’s Really Starting To Feel Like Spring in Michigan

Yesterday was a beautiful day and today should be just as nice.  We have been blessed with above average temperatures most of the past month and extended forecasts are predicting that this will continue through March.  I haven’t heard any for April yet but I’m afraid that we’ll have to pay for this at some point.  We usually do.  But meanwhile, I’m going to enjoy it. Our 9 AM temp is 30°F (-1°C),  the humidity is 78% and skies are…

Spring Has Returned to Mid Michigan

Spring Has Returned to Mid Michigan

The snow that we received yesterday was short-lived and this weekend is expected to be a winner.  Although temperatures will be a bit cool, they will still be above average and with the sun, it will be a nice weekend.  We really lucked out with this storm  compared to other areas of the state, some of whom are still without power. Our 8:30 AM temperature is 27°F (-3°C), the humidity is 70%, and skies are clear.  Winds are calm.  The…

Our Snowstorm Fizzled Out – Mid Michigan

Our Snowstorm Fizzled Out – Mid Michigan

We only received 1.5 inches of snow yesterday which melted down to 20.0 inches.  It was very wet and it is sticking to everything this morning, and with the sun shining, it is very pretty.  I’m happy that we didn’t get the 2-4 inches that was predicted I’m thinking that most of it will be gone by tonight.  The eastern side of the state received much more although I’m not seeing any significant amounts on CoCoRahs this morning.  Much of…

Winter Weather Advisory For Mid Michigan

Winter Weather Advisory For Mid Michigan

Once again, our world will be white.   A winter storm, that has caused much uncertainty over the past few days, will be arriving later today.  It will start as rain then turn to snow as temperatures drop.  At this time it looks like we’ll be getting 2-4 inches of heavy, wet snow.  Winds will be increasing making it miserable to be out and about.  I’m happy that I don’t have to go anywhere. Our 10 AM temperature is 35.2°F (2°C),…
