It really doesn’t get any better than this for a January day. Yesterday reached 50°F in many places and clear skies all day long. It was wonderful. This is something that we haven’t had for a long time. Usually when it warms up, we get rain. This morning is sunny with temps right around the freezing mark. Highs should reach the mid 40s and that should melt the remaining ground cover that we have. The new year came in wet and soggy here in southern Michigan. We had rain almost all day leaving 0.68″ in my rain gauge. The northern half of the lower peninsula received up to 9 inches of snow with some freezing rain mixed in. This morning is still very damp with overcast skies.
