A Tranquil Day For Our Tuesday in Mid Michigan

A Tranquil Day For Our Tuesday in Mid Michigan

There isn’t much happening in our forecast today.  We received a little rain overnight as there was 0.01″ in my gauge.  Today should be quiet and partly sunny with light winds, so it appears to be an okay day.  Last night was very stormy for our friends in Oklahoma although I haven’t heard any damage reports yet.  A Facebook friend of mine who lives near Oklahoma City said that a tornado struck about 10 miles from him but he was…

Severe Storm Warnings But No Severe Storms For My Area – Mid Michigan

Severe Storm Warnings But No Severe Storms For My Area – Mid Michigan

Sunday brought a motley weather situation to Michigan including some tornado warnings.  We had the first storm pass over which brought hard rain and strong winds, and dumped about 0.30 inches on us in about 15 minutes.  The second storm later in the day passed over with a steady rain and no wind.  The second storm brought a severe storm warning to us but it was quite tranquil.  There was storm damage done in the thumb area but I didn’t…

A Warm But Wet Saturday For Mid Michigan

A Warm But Wet Saturday For Mid Michigan

Our morning is beginning with showers and mild temperatures.  There was 0.27″ in my gauge and light rain continues.  It appears that this will be a wet weekend with the possibility of strong thunderstorms tomorrow.  At least the temperatures will be warm.  I’m glad that my husband got the lawn mowed yesterday. Our 8:45 AM temperatures is 47°F (8°C), the humidity is 76% and winds are from the east at 7 mph.  The dew point is 43°F (6°C) and the…

Cloudy With A Hint Of Rain For Our Friday – Mid Michigan

Cloudy With A Hint Of Rain For Our Friday – Mid Michigan

I have been gone the past three days to our campground in Topinabee.  I usually blog from there but they were in the process of installing a new WiFi system in the park, so I had no internet to work with.  The weather was beautiful with sun everyday and highs reaching near or at 70°F.  It was far better than what we expected.  Today has rain in the forecast, and we  just had a quick shower a few minutes ago…

A Cold, Windy Mother’s Day in Mid Michigan

A Cold, Windy Mother’s Day in Mid Michigan

It isn’t supposed to be like this on Mother’s Day.  It’s supposed to be warm, sunny, and very pleasant to be outdoors.  But no!  It isn’t that way at all.  This has really been a crummy spring for us.  All we seem to get is rain and cold temperatures.  If we do get a nice, sunny day, we pay for it over the following 4-5 days.  I’m glad that we’re heading up north tomorrow.  Believe it or not, the upcoming…

Partly Cloudy But Cool For Our Saturday in Mid Michigan

Partly Cloudy But Cool For Our Saturday in Mid Michigan

Today should be an okay day although still much cooler than it what it should be.  At least there isn’t any rain in the forecast.  Highs should be reaching the mid 60s by now and Mother Nature doesn’t seem to want to cooperate.  What makes it worse are the winds.  Mother’s Day is tomorrow and my kids will be home.  We plan to cook out, so we’re hoping that the predicted rain doesn’t happen. We have mostly cloudy skies this…

Yesterday was not a bad day.  We had some rain early, but the afternoon was mostly dry.  There were a few more pop up showers overnight but the day was far from a wash out.  Highs reached into the 70s and that was nice.  Rain amounts totaled 0.27″.  This morning is starting out cloudy but the radar is clear and they are saying that we could see a little sun later this afternoon.  Unfortunately, our temperatures took a nose dive…

More Heavy Rain Knocking On Our Door – Mid Michigan

More Heavy Rain Knocking On Our Door – Mid Michigan

We have had just a few sprinkles of rain so far this morning, but the radar is showing a large area of rain approaching us from the southwest.  It looks like most will be over by early afternoon unless more develops.  It is looking like the weekend will be nice and I’m hoping that it continues into next week when we head up north. Our 9:45 AM temperature is 58°F (14°C), the humidity is 77%, and skies are overcast.  Winds…

Continued Cooler Than Normal In Mid Michigan

Continued Cooler Than Normal In Mid Michigan

We are all wishing for some weather than feels like spring but it is having a very hard time arriving this year.  I am starting to wonder if our whole summer will be like this.  The sun is out this morning but clouds are moving in from the west and rain isn’t far behind them.  Today and Tomorrow will be wet, then we should dry out for the weekend.  Looking at next week, there isn’t much rain in the forecast…

A Rainy, Cool Tuesday In Mid Michigan

A Rainy, Cool Tuesday In Mid Michigan

We are planning our first trip up north early next week and I’m really hoping that this rain will be done by then. Yesterday wasn’t the wash-out that we thought it would be.  In fact, the rain didn’t begin until mid afternoon and it was light at that,.  The heavier rain moved in overnight and there was 0.22″ in my gauge this morning.  Temperatures are once again below average.  This has been the pattern over the past month.  I wish…
