A Rainy Father’s Day Morning For Mid Michigan

A Rainy Father’s Day Morning For Mid Michigan

Looking at the radar, it appears that most of the rain is right over my area,.  Fortunately, it isn’t large so I don’t think that it will last too long.  Regardless, we don’t need anymore rain.  None of the farmers around here have done any planting.  Most of the fields are untouched.  The corn is supposed to be knee high by the fourth of July, and it isn’t even planted.  I don’t recall things ever being this bad for farmers. …

More Clouds And Rain In Our Forecast – Mid Michigan

More Clouds And Rain In Our Forecast – Mid Michigan

It seems like my blogs are quite redundant with the same conditions almost everyday.  Rain, rain, rain.  I must admit that yesterday was mostly dry but there were a few drops in my gauge this morning.  Most of the rain stayed to our north yesterday and I was happy for that.  We have showers and possible thunderstorms in the forecast for today, and everyday going forward has the chance of rain.  Will it ever end?  I never did get all…

A Temporary Reprieve From The Rain – Mid Michigan

A Temporary Reprieve From The Rain – Mid Michigan

This morning is sunny and beautiful, but unfortunately, it won’t last long.  More showers are in the forecast for tonight.  I guess we’ll just enjoy the sun while we have it  It will be breezy today so maybe that will dry it up some. Our 9 AM temperature is 57°F (14°C), the humidity is 67%, and winds are from the west at 9 mph.  Skies are clear and visibility is 10 miles.  The pressure is 30.01 in (1016.3 mb) and…

Much Too Wet And Much Too Cold – Mid Michigan

Much Too Wet And Much Too Cold – Mid Michigan

Most of us are wondering if summer will ever happen this year.  Once again we have temperatures much below normal, and it seems that the rain will never stop.  We received another quarter of an inch overnight.  We’ve been having to mow the lawn about every four days and parts of the yard can’t be mowed because it won’t dry up.  Many of the fields around us haven’t been touched yet and they should have been planted a month ago. …

A Sunny Wednesday Morning For Mid Michigan

A Sunny Wednesday Morning For Mid Michigan

Tuesday was beautiful, both in Northern Michigan and lower portions of the state.  We drove home yesterday and had to detour around one road which had been washed out by Sunday’s storms.  There is more rain in the forecast today but mainly up north.  I’m glad that we decided to come home yesterday.  I can’t really complain as our weather up there was wonderful most of the week. Our 11:30 AM temperature is 76°F (24°C), the humidity is 44% and…

A Sunny Day Before The Next Rain Event – Northern Michigan

A Sunny Day Before The Next Rain Event – Northern Michigan

After the clouds cleared away yesterday, it turned into quite a nice day.  The morning was cold, windy, and damp, but the sky began to clear about 5 PM and the evening was very pleasant.  We took advantage of it and had our last campfire for this trip.  We were supposed to leave tomorrow, but there is another rain system moving it tonight, so we decided to leave today rather than having to pack up in the rain.  Some areas…

Our Last Days In Northern Michigan Will Be Wet

Our Last Days In Northern Michigan Will Be Wet

Yesterday began with a little sun and very mild temperatures.  Then the rains came around mid afternoon, becoming very heavy by nightfall.  I don’t have a rain gauge here but I know that what we received had to be well over an inch.  Looking at the CocoRahs reports from near by stations, they are reporting anywhere from 1.35″ to 1.5″.  The rain has moved off now but winds have picked up and it is not a nice morning.  Tomorrow is…

A Little Sun Before The Rain Moves In – Northern Michigan

A Little Sun Before The Rain Moves In – Northern Michigan

It isn’t sounding like the next few days will be very nice.  Rain is supposed to move in tonight and continue through tomorrow.   I’m just hoping that it isn’t a wash out.  Last night was a busy one here at the campground with people, dogs, kids on scooters and bikes everywhere.  This morning is a bit more quiet with the weekenders packing up and leaving.  I rather enjoy the activity but just not all the time.  We certainly can’t complain…

Sunny And Dry In Northern Michigan

Sunny And Dry In Northern Michigan

We are blessed with another beautiful morning and the campground has really filled up.  People were coming in droves last night and there was a lot of activity for a change.  It will be this way now until September.  We are expecting highs in the 80s today and there is no rain in the forecast until Sunday night.  I guess we have to expect a few rainy days but at least it’s dry for the weekenders. Our 9:30 AM temperature…

We Have Fine Weather In Northern Michigan

We Have Fine Weather In Northern Michigan

We arrived here at the campground on Wednesday and the weather has been wonderful.  Although a bit on the chilly side, at least the sun is shining.  We went down to the In law’s cabins yesterday and Lake Huron was very calm.  They lost most of their beach with the water being so high and they’re hoping that it doesn’t rise anymore.  Our extended forecast is looking good with no rain expected until late Sunday and highs in the mid…
