Cooler, Dryer Weather Continues In Mid Michigan

Cooler, Dryer Weather Continues In Mid Michigan

This weather is such a blessing after the heat of the preceding week.   Yesterday was gorgeous and we were able to turn off the AC at night for a change.  Today should be nice also with cooler, dryer air and we can have our windows open for a change.  I love it! Our 9 AM temp is 60°F (16°C), the humidity is 76% and skies are clear except for a grayish hue from the wildfires to our north in Canada. …

Absolutely Beautiful In Mid Michigan Today

Absolutely Beautiful In Mid Michigan Today

Our weather today couldn’t be nicer.  Humidity and dew points are lower, and temperatures are comfortable with a nice breeze and clear skies.  My son was here for the weekend and we spent most of today siting outdoors until he had to go home.  I have the AC on but I’m sure that we’ll be able to turn in off this evening.  The fresh air will be wonderful tonight. Our 2:45 PM temperature is 79°F (26°C), the humidity is 40%,…

Cooler Weather In The Forecast For Mid Michigan

Cooler Weather In The Forecast For Mid Michigan

The heat has been stifling along with the humidity and high dew points.   I’m ready for a cool down.  It seems that we always go from one extreme to the other.  We had a quick shower early yesterday which left 0.12″ in my gauge but it didn’t cool it done any.  At least we aren’t dealing with an earthquake like California is.  I have family in LA right now and but they said that they felt it by aren’t reporting…

Excessive Heat, Thunderstorms On Tap For Our Holiday Weekend – Mid Michigan

Excessive Heat, Thunderstorms On Tap For Our Holiday Weekend – Mid Michigan

NOAA has issued a special weather statement that we may expect heavy thunderstorms this afternoon and evening.   There were a few in the state yesterday but we received one heavy shower early in the afternoon.  It dropped 0.37″, just enough to get everything wet.  It didn’t do anything to dampen our Holiday cookout.  It was very hot yesterday and the dew point and humidity were very high all day making it uncomfortable to be outdoors even for a few minutes. …

A Cloudy Start To Our Independence Day – Mid Michigan

A Cloudy Start To Our Independence Day – Mid Michigan

Today will be perfect for anyone planning on spending it in the water.  Highs will reach the upper 80s to 90°F, and there may be a few pop-up thunderstorms, so they’ll have to watch for those.  But the day should remain mostly dry and sunny. Right now (9 AM), our temperature is 70°F (21°C), the humidity is 70%, and skies are overcast.  The dew point is 60°F (16°C).  Winds are from the ENE but calm at present.  The pressure is…

Our 9:15 AM temperature is 71°F (25°C), the humidity is 96%, and skies are overcast.  The dew point is 70°F (21°C).  The pressure is 29.9 in (1012.5…

Continued Hot and Humid With Rain – Mid Michigan

Continued Hot and Humid With Rain – Mid Michigan

Yesterday was quite uncomfortable even though the temps were a little cooler.  Today will see higher temperatures and possible storms.  We did get a brief shower around 9:30 this morning but it only dropped 0.03″ in my gauge.  There were heavier storms to our north and there are some pretty dramatic pictures of shelf clouds taken in various areas.  The picture that I’m using for my feature image was taken this morning near Birch Run.  I didn’t see one here…

Continued Warm And Dry In Mid Michigan

Continued Warm And Dry In Mid Michigan

We haven’t had any substantial rainfall now for almost a week and there are still areas of my yard that are like a sponge.  One would think that with temps in the mid to upper 80s that the ground would dry up quickly.  This entire week is expected to remain hot and dry with just the chance of pop up thunderstorms possible.  The forecast for Independence Day looks good, and even if there are a few storms that develop, it…
