August 29 Tornado Stronger Than First Thought – Mid Michigan

The New Lothrop tornado was first evaluated as an EF0.  I think that it will be more like an EF2 after all assessments are done.  There is every bit as much damage as what was done by the March 20th tornado that struck my area.  This just shows that anytime a severe TS waning is issued, one must be prepared for tornadoes as well.  This tornado formed so quickly that there was no time to issue any warnings,.  Thankfully there was no loss of life.  This is the second tornado to hit our county this year.

Our 10 AM temperature is 65°F (18°C), the humidity is 72% and winds are from the southeast at 6 mph.  The dew point is 53°F (12°C) and visibility is 10 miles.  The pressure is 30.35 in (1027.8 mb) and steady.  Yesterday’s high was 75°F (24°C) and the overnight low was 48°F (9°C).  Averages for this date are 80°F / 57°F.  Sunrise was 6:59 AM and sunset will be at 8:13 PM.
