We Are In A Rare Sunny Period For This Time Of Year – Mid Michigan

We are expecting plenty of sun over the next 3 to 4 days, and that just doesn’t happen in February in Michigan.  Although our current temp is only 24°F, there seems to be quite a bit of melting out there in the sun.  Our snow cover has dwindled to about 50% and that will probably be gone by late Sunday.  They are now telling us that we can expect an early spring and that seems to be happening.   I hesitate to believe these long term forecasts after what they said about this winter.  They couldn’t have been more wrong, but we’re happy that they were.

Our current temp is 24°F (-4°C), the humidity is 46%, and winds are from the WSW at 4-12 mph.  The dew point is 5°F (-15°C) and visibility is 10 miles.  The wind chill is 17°F (-8°C).  The pressure is 30.42 in (1030.1 mb) and falling.  Skies are mostly clear.  Yesterday’s high was 29°F (-2°C) and the overnight low was 6°F (-14°C).  Averages for this date are 30°F / 16°F)
