Winter Storm Watch In Effect For Southern Lower Michigan

Winter Storm Watch In Effect For Southern Lower Michigan

A winter storm watch is in effect from late tonight through late Wednesday night for my area.  Total snow accumulations of 4-to 8 inches are expected, and this includes all of southeast Michigan.  This will be the result of two merging low pressure centers right over us.  We knew that it was going to happen since Mother Nature has let us off easy this winter season.  High temperatures will be in the 20s all week, so it doesn’t appear that it will be melting very soon.

Our 9:15 AM temperature is 33°F (1°C), the humidity is 92% and skies are overcast.  Winds are from the southwest at 2 to 6 mph add the wind chill is 28°F (-2°C).  The pressure is 29.80 in (1009.2 mb) and visibility is 10 miles.  Yesterday’s high was 43°F (6°C) and the overnight low was 32°F (0°C).  Average temps for this date are 31°F / 17°F.  Sunrise was at 7:19 AM and sunset will be at 6:20 PM.
