Smoke Filled Skies But Otherwise Clear – Mid Michigan

It is very chilly this morning and skies are clear, but smoke from the western fires give the appearance of a light layer of clouds.  I turned the furnace on and let it run one cycle just to get the chill out of the air.  We’ll be heading up north for the last time in a few days, then camping season will be over for another year.  I enjoy going up there in September.  Many of the campers will already be gone as RV’s start being removed from the sites.  It will be relatively quiet except for the new owners getting ready to winterize.  That’s always a big job.  Then they’ll head back to their home in Texas.  As for us, we’ll be spending time with our relatives who own the cabins on the Straits.  They don’t get much business after Labor Day, so they have time to get away.  There is a cider mill in Rogers City that we always like to visit and that is definitely on our agenda.

Our 10 AM temperature is 57F (14C), the humidity is 90%, and winds are from the southeast at 1-4 mph.  The pressure is 30.14 in (1020.7 mb) and steady.  Skies are hazy clear.  Visibility is 10 miles and the dew point is 55F (13C).  Yesterday’s high was 64F (18C) and the overnight low was 44F (7C).  Average temps for this date are 74F / 51F.  Sunrise was at 7:16 AM and sunset will be at 7:44 PM.
