Another Gloomy, Chilly December Day In Mid Michigan

I was in the hospital much of yesterday so didn’t really get a view of weather conditions, but I do know that we got a lot of rain, and northern Michigan got a lot of snow.  My weather station is showing that we received 1.25″ over the past few days, and there was 0.40″ in my gauge this morning.  It was frozen solid so I had to bring it in to thaw.  There was a very light snow cover, not even enough to measure, and just enough to make the deck slippery.  I think that we’ve reached our high for the day and it’s pretty cold, barely above freezing.  The forecast for the next week isn’t showing much precipitation but temperatures will have a hard time rising above freezing as well.

Our 2:45 PM temp is 34F (1C), the humidity is 80%, and skies are overcast.  Winds are from the SW at 2-5 mph.  The pressure is 29.98 in (1015.2 mb) and falling.  Visibility is 10 miles and the dew point is 28F (-2C).  Yesterday’s high was 42F (5C) and the overnight low was 27F (-3C).  Average temps for this date are 34F / 23F.  Sunrise was at 7:59 AM and Sunset will be at 5:02 PM.  I’m noticing that the sun is already setting a minute later than the past two days, but it continues to rise later in the morning.
