A Typical January Day In Mid Michigan

Our trees are still snow covered with very little thawing going on.  Gotta admit, it’s very pretty.  This is why I like snow in the winter.  Without it, the days are so dark and gloomy.  We have about 3 inches on the ground and most of the ice has melted.  Temps are in the mid 30s and there is almost no wind, so it’s very pleasant to be out there.  I’m happy for the winter sports enthusiasts because today would be perfect for whatever one wants to do.

Our 1 PM temperature is 33F (1C), the humidity is 99%, and winds are completely calm.  We don’t see that very often.  Skies are cloudy with what seems like light mist falling.  The pressure is 29.86 in (1011.2) and steady.  Visibility is 3 miles and the dew point is 32F (0C).  Yesterday’s high was 33F (1C) and the overnight low was 30F (-1C).  Sunrise was at 8:07 AM and sunset will be at 5:14 PM.  We’ve gained about 15 minutes of evening daylight since mid December.
