Major Snow Event In Mid Michigan

Our snowstorm produced what was promised with a little over 7 inches of new snow to add to the 7.5 inches  already on the ground.  On top of that, it’s really cold.  This cold is affecting most of the country, even into the deep south.  I’m hearing that the wind turbines in Texas are freezing up and many are without power.  So much for green energy.  There is nothing like the tried and true.

Our 10:45 AM temp is 14F (-10C), the humidity is 86% and skies are overcast with haze.  Winds are from the NW at 4-14 mph and the wind chill is 5F (-15C).  Visibility is 4 miles.  The pressure is 29.70 in (1005.8 mb) and rising.  Yesterday’s high was 13F (-11C) and the overnight low was 8F (-13C).  Averages for this date are 30F / 16F.  Sunrise was at 7:32 AM and sunset will be at 6:08 PM.
