A Rainy, Chilly Thursday For Mid Michigan

A Rainy, Chilly Thursday For Mid Michigan

Our morning began with a few sprinkles, but it has now progressed into a steady rain.  Temperatures won’t even come close to average today but at least it isn’t snowing.  It’s hard to believe that this is the last week of April already, and I hope that the summer doesn’t pass at quickly as this spring is.  We really are having a lovely spring so far and I figure that the leaves are about 1-2 weeks ahead of schedule.  The early spring flowers are in full bloom and the birds have been busy building nests and laying their eggs.  I still have my seed feeder up and it isn’t nearly as busy as it was.  But every so often a red wing blackbird of a wood pecker will come to visit.  My hummingbird feeder will be going up this weekend, and hopefully, it will draw the orioles as well.  I’ve had the oriole feeder up now for over a week and still no takers.

Our 12:45 PM temperature is 48°F (9°C), the humidity is 94%, and skies are overcast with steady rain.  Winds are from the NW at 2-7 mph, and the pressure is 29.78 in (1008.5 mb) and steady.  Visibility is 7 miles.  The dew point is 48°F (9°C) and the wind chill is 45°F (7°C).  Yesterday’s high was 75°F (24°C) and the overnight low was 46°F (8°C).  Average temps for this date are 62°F / 42°F.  Sunrise was at 6:33 AM and sunset will be at 8:34 PM.
