Sunny And Mild – Mid Michigan

Sunny And Mild – Mid Michigan

Today is what we’ve been waiting for.  Warm, sunny, and light breezes.  This should be the norm for the next 3-4 days with each day getting a little warmer.  I love it.  Most of the leaves are now out full and just a few trees are lagging behind.  It’s great having it be light until 9 PM once again and an early rising sun makes it much easier to get up in the morning.  I’m hoping that we have no…

Sunny And Warmer In Mid Michigan

Sunny And Warmer In Mid Michigan

We finally have a day that seems like mid May with plenty of sun, light breezes, and just a few scattered clouds.  Although the temperature is only in the low 60s, it feels much warmer with the sun.  The remainder of this week is supposed to be just as nice with temperatures increasing a little each day.  Now this is more like it!  No complaints here. Our 2:30 pm temp is 62°F (17°C), the humidity is 31% and skies are…

Another Cloudy, Cold May Day In Mid Michigan

Another Cloudy, Cold May Day In Mid Michigan

This morning, like yesterday, began with clear skies but now clouds have overtaken most of it.  We are still getting a few glimpses of the sun, but not enough to make up for the cold wind.  Tomorrow should start seeing some improvement, and temps should be back up in the 70s by the weekend.  This is the time of year where we should be able to sit outdoors and enjoy all the nature has to give, but most of that…

Below Normal Temperatures Continue In Mid Michigan

Below Normal Temperatures Continue In Mid Michigan

After all the warm weather that we had in April, this cold weather is really annoying.  It certainly doesn’t feel like May.  This morning began with clear skies and sun, but once again the clouds have taken over and I’m seeing some spotty showers appearing on the radar, mainly in the west side of the state.  Normal temps should be back later this week and into the weekend.  I hope it stays this time. Our 11:45 AM temp is 47°F…

Cloudy, Cold And Not a Very Nice Mothers Day In Mid Michigan

Cloudy, Cold And Not a Very Nice Mothers Day In Mid Michigan

Our beautiful warm weather has left us for a spell, and it doesn’t look like it will return before next weekend.  I even saw a few raindrops on my windshield this morning as I returned from church.  On the positive side, there is hardly any wind.  Radar is showing a large mass of rain over the southern portions of the state but it doesn’t appear to be heading this way.  All my kids were here for the weekend and we…

Sunny And A Little Warmer – Mid Michigan

Sunny And A Little Warmer – Mid Michigan

After spending the past three days in very chilly Indian River, we came home yesterday, traveling in a mix of snow and rain most of the way home.  Just north of Gaylord, it was snowing so hard that visibility was reduced to about a mile.  By the time we reached Gaylord , it had changed to all rain again.  We did have dry weather at the campground, but temperatures were below average, and nights were downright cold.  We managed to…

Rainy, Chilly, and Humid Monday Morning – Mid Michigan

Rainy, Chilly, and Humid Monday Morning – Mid Michigan

After an almost “hot” day yesterday, today is just the opposite.  Temps did reach into the low 80s and it actually felt hot for the first time.  Fortunately there was a nice breeze all day so it was comfortable.  Rain began sometime overnight but there was only 0.02″ in my gauge this morning.  We have had intermittent sprinkles and drizzle since then.  We can expect this to be the normal today and it should end sometime tomorrow morning according to…

Warmer But Windy In Mid Michigan

Warmer But Windy In Mid Michigan

Our morning began with clear skies, but now they have become mostly cloudy.  Temperatures will be mild today although I don’t think it will quite make it up to 70 degrees.  Once again, the winds are pretty strong so that makes it feel even colder.  There is the possibility for  hit-or-miss rain, and the radar is showing some activity to our north and west.  My husband just got the truck washed so that will draw rain for sure.  Next week…
