We had a few showers on Saturday which changed to snow overnight. There was a light covering of snow this morning and it has continued since then. Forecasts are calling for an inch of snow for us. I took the picture first thing this morning just as two deer passed through our back yard. Our back 7 acres has a heavy brush cover for the deer. Our morning began with dense fog and frost, but it didn’t last long after the sun came up. Temperatures were very cold overnight and recovery will only be into the mid 50s. Today may be the last of our warm fall days so we should take advantage of it and enjoy it. Highs in the 60s are expected today and tomorrow, but after that, it is expected to feel more like November. Usually by now, almost all the leaves are off the trees, but the maples are still hanging onto theirs. Today has been fairly nice with mild temps and light winds. The morning was a bit sunny but now more clouds have moved in. We are expecting a substantial warm-up over the weekend and into next week with highs reaching into the lower 60s. We had our first snow shower yesterday evening. It all melted on contact but I could see large, white flakes falling in my yard light. Most of the maples and oaks are holding on to their leaves, so hoping for no heavy snow amounts anytime soon. I can’t remember ever having leaves on the trees this late in the season.
