Sunny But Very Cold In Mid Michigan

Sunny But Very Cold In Mid Michigan

Our morning has been very pretty but very cold.  It seems good to see the sun, something that we don’t have much of this time of year.  Unfortunately, tomorrow sounds like it will be a washout, but at least it will be rain.  Most of the leaves are now off the trees and colors here in southern Michigan were a disappointment this year.  I think our temperatures were just too warm most of October, so we had to trade color…

First Snowfall Of The Season – Mid Michigan

First Snowfall Of The Season – Mid Michigan

We had a few showers on Saturday which changed to snow overnight.  There was a light covering of snow this morning and it has continued since then.  Forecasts are calling for an inch of snow for us.  I took the picture first thing this morning just as two deer passed through our back yard.  Our back 7 acres has a heavy brush cover for the deer.  My husband keeps trails mowed down so we can walk back there, so seeing…

A Mix Of Sun, Clouds And A Little Rain For Our Saturday – Mid Michigan

A Mix Of Sun, Clouds And A Little Rain For Our Saturday – Mid Michigan

We have had a mix of everything today.  Our morning was cloudy, but now the sun is out and skies have become partly cloudy.  We had a brief shower about half and hour ago with dropped 0.02″ of rain.  I’m seeing that the western side of the state received up to 4 inches of snow in some areas yesterday, but we were lucky and all of that missed us so far.  I’m seeing mixed areas of green and blue on…

Mild Temps With Rain On The Way – Mid Michigan

Mild Temps With Rain On The Way – Mid Michigan

Our Veterans will have a windy, a bit wet, and mild day on this Veterans Day.  I have two in my family and they’re looking forward to taking advantage of the free meals offered to them by many restaurants in the area.  That’s such a nice gesture.  Our morning started out with filtered sun and breezy.  There is a line of showers approaching from the southwest which should be here sometime this afternoon.  I’m going to venture out to do…

Another Lovely Autumn Day In Mid Michigan

Another Lovely Autumn Day In Mid Michigan

Our morning began with dense fog and frost, but it didn’t last long after the sun came up.  Temperatures were very cold overnight and recovery will only be into the mid 50s.  There isn’t much wind so it will be comfortable, especially with the sun out.  My husband mowed the lawn for the final time this year (we hope), and mulched most of the leaves.  Our dry weather continues but that is expected to change late tomorrow and Thursday.  With…

Cloudy And Cooler For Our Tuesday – Mid Michigan

Cloudy And Cooler For Our Tuesday – Mid Michigan

Yesterday was lovely weather-wise.  Unfortunately, we had to spend the day at the hospital in Detroit so we couldn’t enjoy most of it.  In fact, we didn’t get home until sunset.  Temps reached into the mid 60s and it felt like a spring day rather than autumn.  Today is much cooler and cloudy.  Although there is a chance for some rain, there isn’t much appearing on radar at this time and it is all remaining to our north.  We haven’t…

Sunny And Very Mild On This Nov. 7 – Mid Michigan

Sunny And Very Mild On This Nov. 7 – Mid Michigan

Today may be the last of our warm fall days so we should take advantage of it and enjoy it.  Highs in the 60s are expected today and tomorrow, but after that, it is expected to feel more like November.  Usually by now, almost all the leaves are off the trees, but the maples are still hanging onto theirs.  It’s aggravating because my husband wants to get them mulched for the year and be done with them.  I’m just hoping…

An Okay Day In Mid Michigan

An Okay Day In Mid Michigan

Today has been fairly nice with mild temps and light winds.  The morning was a bit sunny but now more clouds have moved in.  We are expecting a substantial warm-up over the weekend and into next week with highs reaching into the lower 60s.  I would like to say that we’ll be getting the leaves all mulched but most are still on the maples and oaks.  I think we’ll be mowing into mid November this year.  At least there is…

A Sunny, Frosty Morning In Mid Michigan

A Sunny, Frosty Morning In Mid Michigan

We had our first snow shower yesterday evening.  It all melted on contact but I could see large, white flakes falling in my yard light.  Most of the maples and oaks are holding on to their leaves, so hoping for no heavy snow amounts anytime soon.  I can’t remember ever having leaves on the trees this late in the season.  This has indeed been a strange autumn for us.  I’m not complaining and I’ve really enjoyed it.  I can’t go…

It Really Feel Like November in Mid Michigan

It Really Feel Like November in Mid Michigan

Our morning is starting out with a mix of sun and clouds.  Temperatures are very chilly and northern Michigan got their first taste of measurable snow yesterday.  Since so many of our trees still have leaves, I’m hoping that we won’t see any for a while.  There is snow flurries in our forecast but that’s all for now.  We could see a warm-up by next weekend, but highs are expected to only reach the upper 50s. Our 9:45 AM temp…
