Last Week of December In Mid Michigan

December has been mild and temperatures have been above average most of the month.  We haven’t seen much in the way of snow, and what we did get, melted right away.  We had some snow showers late yesterday which dropped almost two inches, but it has been thawing all morning so we already lost much of it. Our snow cover is about 90% at this time, and there is talk of an impending storm for mostly the middle portions of the country.  Severe weather is a probability for the southern states, and we could get some precip also from it.  New Year’s Day could be a good day to just stay home.

Our 2:45 PM temperature is 36°F (2°C), the humidity is 87%, and winds are from the NW at 4-10 mph.  The dew point is 32°F (0°C) and the pressure is 29.89 in (1012.2 mb) and steady. Visibility is 10 miles.  Sunrise was at 8:07 AM and sunset will be at 5:10 PM.  Yesterday’s high was 35°F (2°C) and the overnight low was 29°F (-2°C).  Average temps for this date are 31°F / 21°F
