Another Cloudy, Very Cold Day In Mid Michigan

After seeing temps above freezing the past two days, we are back in the deep freeze today.  The temperature hasn’t risen above 19°F since this morning, and we’re expecting the low tonight to be in the single digits.  I just wish we would get a few days in the 40s so that the rest of this icy snow would melt.  This has been a strange January for us.  Usually we have precipitation at least every other day, and there has been little to none for over a week.  We have had some light snow showers yesterday and today, but no accumulations at all.  All the winter storms seem to be taking the same track, totally missing Michigan.  The south is getting the weather that we should be having, but I’m thankful that we’re not, especially the ice storms.

Our 2:45 PM temperature is 19°F (-8°C), the humidity is 61%, and skies are overcast.  Winds are from the NW at 3-10 mph and the dew point is 5°F (-15°C).  The wind chill is 12°F (-11°C) and the pressure is 30.35 in (1027.8 mb) and falling.   Visibility is 13 miles. Yesterday’s high was 41°F (5°C) and the overnight low was 15°F (-9°C).  Average temps for this date are 27°F / 15°F.  Sunrise was at 8:02 AM and sunset will be at 5:33 PM.
