Some Snow Loss But More On the Horizon – Mid Michigan

Yesterday was quite warm, sunny, and we lost quite a bit of snow cover.  Current snow measured 5.5″ this morning.  Unfortunately there was ice everywhere from the dropping temps and melting yesterday.  Today is much cooler and this is expected to continue through the weekend.  There is another warmup on the way next week, but it could also bring a round of severe weather with it.  That remains to be seem.

Our 5 PM temperature is 29°F (-2°C), the humidity is 78%, and skies are cloudy.  Winds are from the SW at 5-13 mph and the wind chill is 23°F (-5°C), and the dew point is 22°F (-6°C).  The pressure is 29.71 in (1006.1 mb) and steady.  Yesterday’s high was 40°F (4°C) and the overnight low was 29°F (-2°C).  Average temps for this date are 29°F / 15°F.  Sunrise was t 7:41 AM and sunset will be at 6:01 PM.

Tonight:  Cloudy. Snow likely late.  Low 26°F.  Winds SSW at 10-20 mph.  Chance of snow 80%.  Accumulations less than an inch.

Friday:  Mostly cloudy with snow showers in the morning.  High near 40°F.   Winds SW at 10-20 mph.  Chance of snow 60%.

Friday Night:  Snow showers during the evening.  Low 13°F.  Winds WNW at 10-20 mph.  Chance of show 50%.
