A Very Cold Start To Our Day In Mid Michigan

Today began with temps below zero but has warmed up a bit this afternoon. We should start seeing our temperatures moderating beginning today, and a significant warm-up by Wednesday.  Unfortunately, there is a winter storm developing and heading in our direction.  Computer models are ranging from showing it remaining to our south to bringing rain or freezing rain to my area.  Another is showing snow.  So at this time we don’t know what’s going to happen.  I would be happy with the scenario of it remaining well to our south.  I sure don’t want the freezing rain.

Our 4:30 temp is 21°F (-6°C), the humidity is 60%, and skies are cloudy.  Winds are from the SW at 3-8 mph and the wind chill is 18°F (-8°C).  The pressure is 30.12 in (1020.0 mb) and falling.  Visibility is 12 miles.  Yesterday’s high was 17°F (-8°C) and the overnight low was -5°F (-21°C).  Sunrise was at 7:35 AM and sunset will be at 6:06 PM.

DURAND / OWOSSO FORECAST:
