Cold And Nasty In Mid Michigan

Cold And Nasty In Mid Michigan

Today is one of those March days that makes you just want to stay in bed.  We had rain almost all night, leaving 0.53″ in my rain gauge.  Now it has stopped for a while, but it is damp, windy, and just plain cold.  There is a lot more coming according to the radar and we could even have or first thunderstorm today.  This is  the same system which brought many tornadoes to the south over the last few days, including one which hit near downtown New Orleans.  Texas, Oklahoma, Mississippi and Alabama were also hard hit.  Severe weather today isn’t out of the question for Ohio and southernmost Michigan.  That could happen this afternoon.

Our 2:15 PM temperature is 45°F (7°C), the humidity is 92%, and skies are overcast.  Winds are from the ESE at 8-20 mph and the wind chill is 39°F (4°C).  The dew point is 44°F (7°C).  Visibility is 10 miles.  Yesterday’s high was 46°F (8°C) and the overnight low was 37°F (3°C).  The pressure is 29.53 in (1000.0 mb) and falling.  Sunrise was at 7:34 AM and sunset will be at 7:52 PM.
