Thunderstorms In Our Forecast – Mid Michigan

Thunderstorms In Our Forecast – Mid Michigan

If you look out right now, storms would seem like the most unlikely thing to happen.  The humidity is low and there are no clouds to be seen.  But I’ve already received several weather statements that we could get some heavy thunderstorms, some even severe, late this afternoon and overnight.  Temps today should reach the low 80s with 90s expected for the rest of the week.  Usually we get severe weather with an approaching cold front, but not this time.  I follow some storm chasers on YouTube, and there have been very few quiet days since spring began.  Someone, somewhere is always getting rough weather, and tonight may be our turn.

Our 11:45 AM temperature is 73°F, the humidity is 58%, and skies are clear.  Winds are from the east at 2-5 mph.  The pressure is 30.00 in and falling.  The dew point is 58°F and visibility is 12 miles.  Sunrise was at 5:57 AM and sunset will be at 9:16 PM.  Yesterday’s high was 79°F and the overnight low was 55°F.  Average temps for this date are 75°F / 55°F.
