A Stormy Weekend Expected For Mid Michigan

A Stormy Weekend Expected For Mid Michigan

There were a few drops of rain in my gauge this morning, and also lightning strikes showing on my weather station.  I wasn’t aware of any rain in my area overnight but I guess it happened.  The weather service is showing us to be in a slight to enhanced risk area for severe storms today.  I’m seeing reports from some of my Facebook friends to our south, that they are without power this morning as heavy to severe thunderstorms moved through the southwestern corner of the state.  We are expected to get it late tonight as well as overnight.  We do need the rain but not the wind, hail, or anything else that can happen with severe storms.

Right now (10:45 AM), our temperature is 76°F, the humidity is 75%, and the dew point is 69°F.  The pressure is 29.90 in and rising.  Skies are cloudy and winds are from the west at 2-5 mph.  Yesterday’s high was 90°F and the overnight low was 71°F.  Visibility is 10 miles.  Average temps for this date are 83°F / 60°F.  Sunrise was at 6:18 AM and sunset will be at 9:07 PM.

DURAND / OWOSSO FORECAST:

Today:  Mostly cloudy with a stray shower or thunderstorm possible.  High near 90°F.  Winds WSW at 10-15 mph.

Tonight:  Variable clouds with scattered thunderstorms.  Some could be severe.  Low 72°F.  Winds SSW at 10-15 mph.  Chance of rain 70%.

Sunday:  Thunderstorms in the morning, becoming partly cloudy later.  High 81°F.  Winds WSW at 15-25 mph.  Chance of rain 80%.
