First Ground Cover Of Snow – Mid Michigan

First Ground Cover Of Snow – Mid Michigan

We were surprised this morning by a sudden snow squall.  It left about half an inch on the ground and was wet enough to stick to the trees.  It has stopped for now but I think that there is more on the way looking at the radar.  It snowed hard enough that visibility was reduced to less than a mile.  Local forecasts are saying that we could get 3 inches by late tomorrow.  I really don’t dislike snow this time of year since it brightens up the landscape.

Our 11 AM temp is 32°F, the humidity is 93% and skies are overcast.  Winds are from the ENE at 6-13 mph, and the dew point is 30°F.  The pressure is 29.99 in and falling and visibility is 3 miles.  The wind chill is 26°F.  Yesterday’s high was 37°F and the overnight low was 30F.  Average temps for this date are 47°F / 31°F.  Sunrise was at 7:30 AM and sunset will be at 5:14 PM.
