A Stormy Day For The South – Mid Michigan

A strong storm system is setting up in the south with severe storms and tornadoes expected.  Fortunately for us, all we’re expecting is rain and strong winds.  Local forecasters are warning of possible 45 mph gusts.  Right now it is quiet and most isn’t expected until tonight and tomorrow.  We have several cold fronts heading our way preempted by fairly warm temps and this will continue into next week.  No stability is expected until mid to late December.  It’s too early to predict Christmas weather, but I hope that it will be good traveling conditions.

Our 12:15 PM temperature is 47°F, the humidity is 78%, and winds are from the SE at 3-5 mph.  The dew point is 38°F.  The pressure is 29.74 in and falling, and visibility is 10 miles.  Skies are cloudy.  Sunrise was at 7:45 AM and sunset will be at 5:04 PM.  Yesterday’s high was 40°F and the overnight low was 32°F.  Average temps for this date are 40°F / 27°F.

Today:  Mostly cloudy.  Rain developing in the afternoon.  High 51°F.  Winds SSE at 5-10 mph, increasing to  15-25 mph with higher gusts possible.  Chance of rain 60%.

Tonight:  Steady rain overnight.  Low 32°F.  Winds SSW at 15-25 mph with higher gusts possible.  Chance of rain 90%.

Wednesday:  Cloudy and windy.  High 36°F.  Winds W at 20-30 mph, gusting over 40 mph at times.
