Over Three Inches Of Snow To Start The Weekend – Mid Michigan

Over Three Inches Of Snow To Start The Weekend – Mid Michigan

We had intermittent snow showers all day Thursday, which increased in  intensity in the evening.  Most of the early snow melted on contact, but heavier showers later in the day started accumulating.  Radar is showing more on the way.  I’m seeing where parts of New York state got three feet, so I won’t complain.  Highs today won’t reach much higher than the freezing mark, so I don’t think that much of it will melt.  But the ground is warm so…

Cold With More Snow For Mid Michigan

Cold With More Snow For Mid Michigan

At least we aren’t under a winter storm watch / warning like western and northern portions of our state.  We do, however, continue to have periodic snow showers.  Most of the snow has been melting since the ground is still quite warm.  There is about an inch of snow cover where it hasn’t melted and our forecast is for more of the same over the next several days and into the weekend.  Right now, our next possible sunny day is…

Our First Measurable Snow Of The Season – Mid Michigan

Our First Measurable Snow Of The Season – Mid Michigan

We woke to a white world this morning with about an inch of snow on the ground.  Liquid measure was about 0.13″.  It’s a wet snow so it is sticking to all the tree branches.  Highs today will probably not make it out of the mid 30s, but there isn’t much wind so it’s actually quite pleasant outdoors.   Snow showers are in our forecast for today but no real accumulations are expected. Our noon temperature is 33°F, the humidity is…

First Ground Cover Of Snow – Mid Michigan

First Ground Cover Of Snow – Mid Michigan

We were surprised this morning by a sudden snow squall.  It left about half an inch on the ground and was wet enough to stick to the trees.  It has stopped for now but I think that there is more on the way looking at the radar.  It snowed hard enough that visibility was reduced to less than a mile.  Local forecasts are saying that we could get 3 inches by late tomorrow.  I really don’t dislike snow this time…

A Yucky Weather Period Ahead For Mid Michigan

A Yucky Weather Period Ahead For Mid Michigan

Today really looks and feels like November.  It is cold and temperatures are remaining in the upper 30s.  The high was supposed to reach 40°F today but I don’t think it’s going to make it.  At least it isn’t windy so not much wind chill to deal with.  The remainder of this week has snow/rain in the forecast everyday.  Temperatures will be below average most days, and we could see our first accumulations of snow.  Yippee! Our 4:15 PM temperature…

Another Cold Day In Mid Michigan

Another Cold Day In Mid Michigan

There isn’t much to say about today except that it’s cold and gloomy.  The forecast called for partly sunny but we haven’t seen much sun yet.  Highs aren’t even expected to reach the 40s, so it’s a drastic change from what we had three day ago.  We did see a few snow flurries fall a little white ago, but not enough to amount to anything. Our 1:30 PM temperature is 36°F, the humidity is 54%, and skies are cloudy.  Winds…

Really Feels Like November Today – Mid Michigan

Really Feels Like November Today – Mid Michigan

This morning began with clear skies but clouds have moved in since then.  It won’t be very warm today but otherwise not too bad.  At least we have no snow yet but I’m expecting that to happen very soon.  We could see some rain or snow flurries, but no real precip amounts until Tuesday. Our 10:45 AM temperature is 39°F, the humidity is 71%, and skies are cloudy. Winds are from the west at 2-9 mph and visibility is 12…

Much Cooler On This Veteran’s Day – Mid Michigan

Much Cooler On This Veteran’s Day – Mid Michigan

Yesterday was another beautiful day here in mid Michigan.  Temps rose into the mid to upper 70s which broke many records.  We certainly did enjoy it and I was able to sleep with my window open for possibly the last time this year.  Today is quite a bit cooler but still not a bad day.  Highs will be about 15 degrees cooler but still well above average for this date.  Right now is the warmest it will be today with…

Probably Our Last Really Warm Day – Mid Michigan

Probably Our Last Really Warm Day – Mid Michigan

Although it’s a bit breezy, it is absolutely gorgeous outdoors.  This is amazing for November 10, and it will probably be the last where we would want to sit outdoors.  My husband is out doing some last minute chores before winter sets in, and it sounds like that may happen in just two days.  Highs over the weekend will only reach into the 30s and there is snow in the forecast.  But today is a gem and we’ll take what…

Our Wednesday Is Shaping Up Nicely – Mid Michigan

Our Wednesday Is Shaping Up Nicely – Mid Michigan

Temperatures are a little cooler today but it is otherwise very nice.  Skies are mostly clear with a few clouds passing over, and winds are light to moderate.  Mother Nature just keeps giving us fine weather although I know it will end soon.  This weekend will be more seasonable with highs only expected in the 40s.  But even that isn’t too bad if we have sun.  It would be great if this lasted all winter but I’m still waiting for…
